Creating a Vermont that Works for All of Us

Protecting Democracy
  • Anne supports Ranked Choice Voting. Not sure what that is? Read more about it here. 
  • She voted for the Equal Rights Amendment (Proposal 4), which protects equal treatment for people, regardless of their race, ethnicity, sex, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or national origin. Read more about it here 
  • Anne supports requiring that federal and state law enforcement may not wear masks and must make identification clear. 

Healthcare
  • Anne supports expanded access to dental and vision care, 
  • Prohibiting price gouging on medicines, ​
  • Creating a Universal Single Payer, 
  • Raising the age limits of Dr. Dynasaur, and
  • Using Reference Based Pricing to reduce healthcare costs (Check out the Auditor's report on Reference Based Pricing Here.)

Environmental Stewardship
  • Anne was the co-lead sponsor of Vermont's Climate Superfund bill
  • Anne championed the plug-in solar bill, which cut red tape for very small, plug-in solar arrays. 
  • As the chair of Senate Natural Resources and Energy, her committee passed a bill that would have protected Vermont waterways from chloride contamination. 
  • Her committee worked on and supported a bill that would have become the strongest data center regulation in the country. 

Housing
  • She voted for Act 250 reforms and municipal zoning changes to make it easier to build affordable housing. ​​
  • Anne continues to support providing funding for housing to help lower the cost of building. 
  • Anne supports building housing outside of river corridors and away from wetlands to support the long-term viability of our housing stock as our climate shifts, and flooding becomes more frequent. 

Lower Cost of Living 
  • Anne supports growing the grand list across Vermont and taxing 2nd homes at a higher rate, 
  • programs that help Vermonters switch off of fossil fuels to cheaper, less volatile fuel sources, 
  • programs that reduce healthcare costs, like reference-based pricing.​

Gun Safety Legislation
  • Anne supports raising the minimum age of ownership to 21, 
  • mandatory safety education for purchasing a gun, 
  • Banning semi-automatic weapons,. 
  • She voted in favor of Vermont's Safe Storage ​law.

Reproductive Liberty
  • Anne voted in favor of Proposition 5, to protect reproductive bodily autonomy.​

Unions and Workers' Rights
  • Anne voted in favor of Card Check
  • She supports Paid Family and Medical Leave​​, and Extended parental leave
  • Anne supports Proposal 3: Vermont Workers' Rights Amendment, which will protect Vermonters' right to collectively bargain. Read more about it here
